Note: Introduction to Environmental Science lecture and lab are two separate courses. You do not have to take both. You may register for one or the other or both. You should speak with a CCSF academic counselor to determine which combination best suits your needs.
Environmental Science Laboratory (ENVS 31L) is a core component of the environmental science and environmental studies majors and the sustainability certificate. It also fulfills the requirements for CSU (GE Area B3) and the IGETC (GE Area 5C). Course Description
Environmental Science Laboratory (ENVS 31L) is an introduction to tools and techniques used by environmental scientists to investigate human impacts on the environment in the lab and/or field settings.
You will learn to apply qualitative and quantitative concepts and models to evaluate environmental problems and their proposed solutions. Credits: 1 Expected effort: approximately 4.4 hours/week for 16 weeks. Course Objectives

We will NOT have in-person or required synchronous (zoom) course meetings. This course is NOT self-paced. This means that materials will release on a regular schedule (for example, a single, two-week module at a time) and you are expected to complete the assignments from that module within a certain time frame (certain assignments due certain days, after they are assigned).
